Making and unmaking is part of the fabrication, crafting and construction of these small geometric abstraction collage works. I am using fine Japanese wood veneers I found in Tokyo: cherry, spruce, buna and bird’s eye maple, and other materials such as Belgian linen and cotton rag papers on custom made ply supports. The colour is mostly gouache mixed with acrylic medium and house paint. It is incredibly time consuming and sometimes frustrating but the upside is listening to music and podcasts in the studio while I work.
